Provide First Aid Course
First Aid Saves Lives – Everybody can be a Lifesaver with our first aid course.
This course has been designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to provide first aid treatment for a wide range of emergencies. The course is based on the National Unit of Competency: HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid.
This comprehensive one-day first aid course can be completed at our purpose-built training facility in Perth and across Western Australia. Pre-learning is required before commencing. Our admin staff will send you the online pre-learning link once your booking is confirmed.
Participants who complete the course will be at an advantage to secure roles within, but not limited to, the Mining, Construction and Building Industries.
WHAT DOES THE PROVIDE FIRST AID COURSE INCLUDE?
On completion of the course, participants will have the skills required to provide first aid to a victim of illness or injury. The course content includes the following:
- DRSABCD procedure
- Principles & legalities of First Aid
- Responding to an emergency
- Assessment for unconsciousness
- Moving the casualty
- Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treatment of Illness
- Cardiac emergencies
- Bleeding and Wounds
- Dressings and bandages
- Hyperthermia & Hypothermia
- Burns and scalds
- Reporting of accidents
- Spinal Injuries
- Bites, stings and envenomation
- Allergic Reactions (Anaphylactic Shock / Use of EpiPen)
- Crush injuries
PREREQUISITES & COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
There are no pre-requisites for this course, however, participants should be able to participate in an adult learning environment
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a KI Training and Assessing Certificate/Statement of Attainment. This course is a Nationally Accredited Course. Please note that the first aid certificate is valid for three years, after which you should take a refresher course.
