High Pressure Water Jetting Training – Operator
PURPOSE:
This course has been designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to operate a high pressure water jetting system. This may be required to clean, prepare, abrade, cut or demolish concrete, steel or other plant, equipment, vessels or infrastructure. The course is based on the National Unit of Competency: MSMSS00018 – Operate High Pressure Water Jetting System – Operator.
On successful completion of the training, participants may seek work as a water blaster operator, servicing the industrial, mining & oil and gas sectors.
This comprehensive 12-hour course can be completed at our purpose-built training facility in Belmont, Perth.
WHAT DOES THE HIGH-PRESSURE WATER JETTING TRAINING – OPERATOR COURSE INCLUDE?
On completion of the course, participants will have the skills required to operate High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment. The participant will be able to operate independently. The course content includes the following:
- Prepare for work
- Complete on-site preparation
- Set up the job in accordance with procedures
- Undertake water jetting job in accordance with procedures
- Complete job in accordance with procedures
PREREQUISITES & COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements of the unit of competence- MSMWJ304 – Operate a high-pressure water jetting system and the Skill Set MSMSS00018 – Operate a high-pressure water jetting system is that the course participant must have completed:
1. MSMWJ202 Use high pressure water jetting equipment unit of competence
and;
2. 120 hours of performance evidence.
The inclusion of 120 hours reflects established industry training practice and strong safety-driven industry views that to be deemed competent to autonomously operate a high-pressure water jetting system, an individual must have developed and demonstrated skills and knowledge during this period of practical experience. – The Australasian High-Pressure Water Jetting Association
CERTIFICATION:
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a KI Training and Assessing Certificate/Statement of Attainment.
Note that refresher training or verification of competency must be completed within two years of completion of this course. (Reference: Standards Australia AS/NZS 4233.1-2013).
Mandatory Prerequisites for the Operate High Pressure Course
Before booking the Operate High Pressure Water Jetting course, please ensure you meet the following mandatory requirements:

USE High Pressure Water Jetting Course Completion:
- Candidates must have successfully completed the USE High Pressure Water Jetting (MSMSS00017 - Use high pressure water jetting equipment skill set OR MSMWJ202 - Use high pressure water jetting equipment).
- This evidence can be provided with either USI Transcript, or Statement of Attainment. Wallet cards CAN NOT be used as evidence.

Work Experience Evidence:
- Candidates must provide 120 hours of evidence from their employer, demonstrating relevant work experience. This can be provided in either a Statutory declaration from your employer, or a current logbook signed by your supervisor.
