What Employment Options Will You Have?

When you have gained your forklift licence, you will be a sought-after resource. Forklifts are used in many worksites across resource industries (such as oil, gas and mining) and in warehouses across the world. You may find work as:

  • Storeman
  • Transport Yard Forklift Operator
  • Freight Handler
  • Forklift Driver/Operator

Industries and workplaces where you could be employed with your forklift licence include:

  • Construction Sites

Building and construction sites greatly benefit from the versatility and efficiency of industrial forklifts. These indispensable machines streamline the process of transporting heavy building materials over both short and long distances, even on rough terrain.

As a unique blend of lifting tool and vehicle, forklifts enable construction workers to swiftly unload pallets laden with bricks, beams, and steel joists from delivery trucks and convey them to the appropriate work areas.

Recognising this advantage, many transport firms have begun to include truck-mounted forklifts as part of their fleet, ensuring the prompt and effortless offloading of construction products at their final destination.

Emphasising helpfulness and informativeness, industrial forklifts truly enhance the functionality and productivity of construction sites.

  • Recycling Plants

One of the primary tasks for forklifts in a recycling site is the unloading of trucks and containers, which then enables the swift transportation of recyclable contents to designated sorting bays.

Forklift trucks prove to be versatile when it comes to loading and unloading activities, as they can efficiently manage straight trucks, tractor-trailers, elevators, and even railway cars.

Incorporating cage attachments to the forklift serves as a practical solution to safely transport materials such as tyres, which have a likelihood of sliding off the forks.

Through these applications, forklifts indisputably enhance productivity and safety within recycling operations.

  • Storage Facility/Warehouse

In warehouses, various types of machinery make the storage and handling of goods significantly more efficient. Among these, forklifts stand out due to their versatility and high demand in loading, unloading, and carrying goods throughout the warehouse.

Available in a range of sizes and capabilities, forklifts ensure smooth navigation and precise placement of loads. Each forklift has a designated plate clearly indicating its maximum lifting capacity, allowing operators to maintain safe operation at all times.

Pallet trucks play a crucial complementary role in warehouses, especially when dealing with pallet-bound goods like cartons or tinned items, streamlining the unloading and organising processes. In essence, the harmonious combination of forklifts and pallet trucks makes warehouse operations remarkably productive and well-coordinated.
